This Is My 100th Post

I had big plans for my 100th post but alas they didn't come to fruition.  It's a common theme with me.  Big plans falling short of fruition.  Mostly because I hover in between productivity and idleness.

I have written about 17 posts in my head in the last week because I have a lot rattling around in there.  Most of them leave me feeling too vulnerable and therefore unable to do anything but look at other blogs, clean my house, and do Piper's homework (another post).

Anyways, on to more important things:  My decorating style. I just discovered it and thought you might be interested to know that they hit the nail on the head.  This is me. Decoratively speaking anyways...
Rustic Revival

You can take kid out of the country but you can't take the country out of the kid... or is your theme "you can take the kid out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the kid?".

Either way you play it, you are one of the unique individuals who loves a mix of modern and country. The clean lines of the modern softened by rustic/vintage elements is the perfect mix in your mind. And can we blame you? You've taken the best aspects of two popular designs and mixed them in a manner that appeals to young and old alike. A subtle background of white or light colors provides a nice canvas for all the wonderful flea market, eBay, or garage sale finds as well as the classic modern pieces that you love.

Check it out here. It's fun and fast.

That style fits you very well! I took the quiz and my style fits me too! Oh how I miss you... you should come and see this baby.. if you could just smell him over the phone I am convinced you couldn't wait a second longer and would happily oblige to a buddy pass and get on the next flight out here! I miss you. Loves

That was so much fun!

this is me:

Modern Elegance

Variety is the spice of life! And nowhere is this truer than in the design of your home. You may love contemporary, but wish it wasn't quite so cold and austere, or perhaps you're drawn to traditional rooms but you'd like to create a less cluttered and busy space. Transitional Style is here to marry those apparent contradicting designs.
And guess what? It's the contradictions that make the mix of contemporary and traditional so successful. The result is an elegant room that appeals to young and old alike. A sofa with modern lines blends seamlessly with a pair of traditional chairs. New fabrics work so well on antique pieces. It turns out that modern art looks even more exciting above a collection of traditional pieces. The room feels simple and sophisticated, elegant and hip.

I almost shed a tear it was so true! Neck and neck with rustic revival also...

Happy 100th post my dear! I am so glad we stumbled onto each others blogs. I love reading your posts, you always make me smile and I'll have you know just for the heck of it I was looking at last minute deals to Arizona but I have no idea what city I would fly into to see you!

Oh and my decorating style is 50% Rustic Revival and 50% Modern Elegance. That was fun!

One more thing....you need to write when you feel vulnerable, it's kinda scary but it feels so good to put it out there when you have peeps who will be there for you.

You're right. They nailed your style right on the head.

I'm a little confused by mine.

50% Classic
33% Nantucket Style
17% Frech Eclectic

If I had to guess before I took this quiz, I think I would have said I was more contemporary classic. They have no example of my style. Should I be troubled by that?

Like all personality tests...I ended up with 3 that describe me...such a Gemini! My higest (46%) says I prefer contemporary. Actually describes my house very well. (blue and brown walls, orange leather copenhagen sofa, colorful Salvador Dali prints, etc...)

Contemporary
So fresh and clean! Antiques? No thanks! Vintage collections and clutter of any type? Not for you! You like your space new and sleek. Each piece is chosen carefully as though it were a piece of art, and your love of minimalism is expressed throughout each room. Furniture has clean lines and geometric shapes are preferred.

You're not afraid of color — in fact, bold color options only highlight the minimal items you choose for your home. But the key is clean. To master the minimalist interior you not only have to be selective in the few furniture items you bring into the space, you must also find a way to hide all of the real-life items as well.
